A font is hard to judge until it sits in your own layout. Typographer now separates trying a font from buying one. Designers can set as many as they like in prototypes and client pitches, then license only what the finished work needs.

“We made Typographer to be simple and transparent. Sign up, browse, filter, search, sync, and prototype. If you or your client approves the design, get a license. Rinse and repeat,” said Sam Berlow, co-founder and Executive Chairman of The Type Founders.

Every font on Typographer comes from one of The Type Founders’ foundries, from historic collections to new releases. Meet our foundries:

Questions about the free plan

What can I do for free? Browse, test, and sync any font in the library. Use it in prototypes and pitches: websites, presentations, PDFs, video, and social posts.

When do I need a license? Once the work is commercial, you or your client need a license. Pricing is transparent. Every foundry on Typographer uses the same EULA, so the terms do not change from one font to the next.

Which apps does it work with? Figma, Affinity, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, Keynote, Pages, Word, and PowerPoint.

What do I need to run it? A Mac. Typographer runs from the macOS menu bar.
